This issue is going out to friends and members, but subsequent issues will be sent only to members, so please join to continue to receive our issues. Our first month!
YowTRIP turns one month old today and we would like to share our first month's progress and plans for the future with you, friends or one of our first members. We're still growing and most of our efforts this month concentrated on attracting more users.
We did roll out some features and improvements on our site: YowVisitors -- where you can see who is viewing your profile and how many times. This is a good way to meet friends of friends who might share the same interests and/or travel plans; YowMaps -- where you can show the countries you've visit on a world map.

And now the big news!
How to get a free iPod this month!
We still need your help to grow this online travel network, but we want to give you something in exchange in a fun way. We're giving one iPod Nano to our biggest contributor. Unfortunately we can't give one to all of you, so you'll need to compete for it! Here is how you can take a brand new iPod on your next vacation:
- Join YowTRIP! (if you haven't done so)
- Use our Invite a friend form to send an invitation to a friend. When your friend joins, he/she will be added to your buddy list and you will get yoints (YowTRIP points) toward your iPod.
- Inviting friends is by far the best way to get yoints, but you can also get yoints by adding travel plans, tips, travelogs, photos and videos.
So, start saving yoints now!

YowTRIP to New York City
In September I journeyed to New York City for a YowTRIP experiment (always looking for an excuse to travel) to meet fellow world travelers and tell them about YowTRIP, make contacts with different hostels and try out blogging/adding photos and videos while traveling.
New York City is the main destination in North America for world travelers and I hadn't been back there in years. I didn't have enough time to do everything I had planned, so I may just have to go back soon (does that sound like another excuse?) The trip was great! So hopefully we will have new networks popping up around the world.
What's ahead?
We'll continue to improve our services and add new and exciting features in the next few months. We're also going to look for sponsors to provide different free travel-related services/products to our members.
