If you're new to YowTRIP, we would like to welcome you to our free social network of world travelers. We send out a newsletter at the beginning of every month to keep our members informed about what's going on here at YowTRIP.

Where would you like to go next?

YowTRIP was created to connect solo world travelers who have similar travel plans. Now, we have expanded the YowTRIP service to recognize a whole new kind of user, one who may not want to travel solo but would like to meet new people to go on a trip with. YowGROUPS connects you with people with similar travel interests and lets you organize your trips before you go. It's a great way to explore places you've always wanted to and make new friends along the way!

There are a few ways you can use this new service: (1) Create a YowGROUP to your desired destination, invite your YowBUDDIES or non-YowTRIP members, let others join your group, and go from there. (2) Go to YowTRIP's city page (via the "Where will you go next?" search box), browse through YowGROUPS created by other members, and contact/join the ones you like. (3) Search by group types/activities (example: skiing, gambling, city/nightlife, beach, etc.) and decide where to go.

Be one of the first to create a YowGROUP! YowTRIP is giving shirts away to the first few members to add a YowGROUP. Log in to your account and create a YowGROUP, plan your next trip, and we'll mail you a shirt!

YowTRIP demonstrates in Boulder and San Francisco

We continue to go around the major web 2.0 technology groups to talk about YowTRIP. Just last week, we were in Boulder, Colo., demonstrating it to 200 members of the Boulder New Tech Meetup group. The event went extremely well and we received a lot of great feedback. On Wednesday, Feb. 13, we will be at the SF New Tech Meetup in San Francisco.

The objective of these two demos is to share our services with other technology enthusiasts and web 2.0 entrepreneurs, as well as to launch YowGROUPS. Make sure you check our blog regularly for up-to-the-minute reports on our services, events and promotions.

Who is talking about us?
YowTRIP around the world!

Since we went live last September, we've been following blogs and newspapers for anything being said about YowTRIP. We've come across blog articles in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese and Russian. Last month, we were mentioned in the Sunday edition of Madrid's El Pais newspaper, as well as in my town of Sacramento's newspaper, The Sacramento Bee. We were also featured on a TV show for the Radio Television Española in Madrid.

Update your profile!

Just a friendly reminder to keep your profile updated. If you haven't added your profile photo or your favorite vacation photos, please do so. You're more likely to get responses or be contacted by other members if they can learn a little about you from your profile.

By the way, you can have your very own public page at www.yowtrip.com/YOUR_NAME! You have to activate it on your preferences page and then you can share it with non-YowTRIP members so they can follow you on vacation!
