There's something for everyone in San Francisco: city parks for weekend warriors - hikers, bikers, surfers, sailors, would-be marathoners, a foodie's paradise with hundreds of eateries to satisfy every craving and palate. Places to explore: museums, pubs, clubs, cafes, street festivals, Golden Gate Park, Palace of Fine Arts. Soak up the eclectic mix of intellectual, artistic, and ethnic experiences, or just play tourist - whatever you do, don't miss breathtaking views of the bay!

Arunan MOne of the must do things in San Francisco is visit the Muir Woods (National Monument) park. Especially if you haven't been to a Redwood park/forest before.

It's only 12 miles north of San Francisco, and the best time is to be there when they open at 08:00. The tourists don't arrive until noon and you can experience the park as it's supposed to be - in cool weather, witness the giant trees piercing the fog, in serenity. And entry is free for the first hour from opening ;)

Also, if you must go later, don't drive up. The parking lots get filled on weekends and you might have to hike 2+ miles uphill after parking. Take the shuttle from the State Hwy 1 exit from Route 101 for $3 per person.

Helen WaltersI stayed in the Green Tortoise Hostel in San Francisco over the Thanksgiving weekend and had such a great time. This place is just awesome! Especially if you like having fund and meet people from all over the world. Plus, it's about as cheap as it gets in this great city. $26 per night in a dorm room, they have a small breakfast plus dinner 3 times a week included and lots of activities. I'd go back any minute!
