Rome is a very cool city
I ended up getting to Rome at about 7pm, walked a little bit to the Hostel, took a cold shower and decided it was time to go see the Coliseum. I got there it was getting dark and a free concert of Brian Adams and Billy Joe (I think) was about to start. I stayed for the first part, then I took off.

On the next day, I took off early to go to the Vatican. The Basilica di San Pietro was pretty amazing. As I was standing in line, somebody yell "free English tour", so I joined that group... It's so much better to do a tour like that, especially when you don't know anything about it... I had no idea about what I was looking at... I meant to do my homework and check a little about the places I was going to visit, but I didn't have enough of Internet time before I left (as you know, Internet is a high commodity here)

Anyway, after that tour, I was kind of done with the whole Jesus history and what not, so I went back to Rome to see the Coliseum and surrounds during the day. I was going to get in, but you had to get 2 lines: one to buy a ticket and another to actually get in... I was about to give up when somebody yelled "join our tour and skip the queue", so I joined that tour as well...

With that tour, you'd get another complementary one, but I went to get a pizza and got distracted and missed the group... I was getting tired of all the Roman history anyway... and it was incrediblely hot to do anything else... I mean it. So I took the metro back to the Hostel. Speaking of which, one of the metro lines (there are only two) had air conditioning... I couldn't believe when I walked in...

After another cold shower, I went for a little walk around town. This time I didn't follow a map and, yeah, I got lost... Then I found my way back to the Coliseum area.

On another subject, I'm a little upset about the Euro Pass. My first tow days on this trip, nobody came to check my pass... Now, I only have 3 days left and I had planned 4 days, so I had to buy this ticket to Milan... and since I had to buy it anyway, I got 1st class... It's better than 2nd: less people (so the AC works), a little more space and outlet to charge my laptop and phone...
